Mrs. Stein's Lesson Plans for May 19th-23rd

We are almost to the finish line, and the year is starting to wind down! However, it is not a time that students can start winding down as we near semester exam time! Here are the lesson plans for the week: For the Week of May 19th-23rd JH Survey: Students will be finishing a unit on their geneaology. We will be creating maps of their heritage, finding their family crests, finding the origin of their name, creating a resume, etc. Students should have been interviewing family members as part of the project to be typed up as part of the portfolio. Portfolios are due for presenting on Thursday, May 22nd. For the Resource Room: Students will be working through their student portfolios for the year and updating them. They will be updating transition assessments, goals, career exploration sheets, and accomplishments for the year.

Read to Enjoy!

On Monday, December 10th Mrs. Stein's students will be reviewing their current Lexile scores according to Fall MAP test results and choosing novels that are an appropriate reading level for each student. We will be taking a trip to the Library to review books that meet their needs, but we will also be looking at AEA media such as Playaway books which allow students to listen on MP3 the book being read to them as they follow along. Our hope is that students will be bringing these materials home over the holiday break to increase their enjoyment of reading while increasing their fluency skills, comprehension skills, and fulfilling reading requirements of their English classes! Encouragement from family is key to success!
